YOUR ROLE:

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Senior Buyer’s primary responsibility will be to ensure the optimal procurement of raw materials (steel, aluminum, hardware) and subcontracting services required for production. You will play a key role in keeping the supply chain running smoothly while optimizing costs and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Order Management : Purchase raw materials and industrial supplies based on production planning requirements.
• Negotiation : Negotiate prices, delivery times, and payment terms with existing and potential suppliers.
• Supplier Sourcing : Identify new sources of supply and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
• Delivery Tracking : Closely monitor delivery dates and outstanding orders to prevent production interruptions.
• Internal Collaboration : Work closely with the estimating and production departments to anticipate requirements.
• Subcontracting : Manage outsourced work, including painting, plating, heat treatment, and other services.
• Inventory : Help optimize inventory levels to minimize excess stock while preventing shortages.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience : A minimum of 7–10 years of purchasing experience, ideally in manufacturing or metal processing.
• Education : Academic training in supply chain management or business administration, or equivalent experience.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in ERP software (essential) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Languages : Working proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
