Job description

Working in the workshop, the machinist reports directly to the supervisor. They must be able to operate the various equipment in the machining department. This department comprises 3 CNC machining centers and a few conventional machines.

Tasks

• Set up and operate CNC machines
• Be able to adjust and operate conventional equipment
• Run programs on Mastercam and Camplus software
• Imperial and metric systems of measurement
• Read work instructions and interpret plans and sketches
• Be able to use different measuring equipment
• Carry out visual and dimensional inspection of machined parts
• Using lifting equipment
• Applying health and safety rules in the workplace
• Ensure the continuous improvement of the function’s processes and take steps to increase efficiency
• Contribute through your attitude to creating a work climate conducive to teamwork
• Carry out any other tasks related to the job or assigned by the foreman or team leader

Training and knowledge

• Diploma of Vocational Studies DEP in machining
• ASP in CNC machining
• Knowledge of “G-code” numerical control programming language
• Bilingual an asset (French – English)

Experience

• 1 to 3 years in machining

Working hours

• Full-time day
• 40 hours per week
• 6.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 6.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Friday
